The flooding information breaks down the location and to what extent in which flooding was occurring in the Shadow Mountain community. As well as the hydrologic analysis used for developing the final design criteria.
The alternative designs focused on stormwater collection systems that would best serve the project site, constraints, and prevent future flooding to the Shadow Mountain residence.
Each design team member was responsible for familiarizing themselves with the designs and scoring requirements prior to scoring the designs.
The final design was created based on the California Department of Transportation (CalDOT) Bioswale Design Manual. The CalDOT Bioswale Design Manual includes the required design calculations, design assumptions, and approaches to design a bioswale that exceeds maximum standards.
The final design was evaluated for environmental, economical, and societal impacts.
The cost of the final design was broken down into excavation, material, and construction cost.
