North Approach

The north abutments ties the bridge to the existing pathway and retains the fill needed to meet the 14 ft clearance. The north abutment consists of a retaining wall and two wing walls. The retaining wall supports the 45 ft bridge deck.  The retaining wall and wing walls withhold the fill so the wash remains unaffected.  The north approach has elastomeric bearing pads and  preformed expansion joint filler to cushion the bridge deck to the abutments.
