Daniel Minichetti

Major: Applied Computer Science
Hometown: Queen Creek, Arizona

Experience and Skills

  • Software Engineering: I have previous experience working in group environments and took CS 386 at NAU, passing with an A.
  • Web Development: I was the sole builder of the website for my web application in CS386, and took CS 212 in which I got an A. From these experiences, I’ve gained an in-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, and some JavaScript.
  • Technical Writing: Understand IEEE formatting and have experience in writing technical reports or deliverables from both EGR333 W and CS 386.

Interests

  • Data Science: While a separate discipline of its own, it has really caught my attention this past year, and I enjoy the processes of taking data and analyzing it.
  • UI Development: I really enjoy developing clean and usable interfaces, particularly for websites and apps.

Kane Davidson

Major: Computer Science

Experience

  • Swift iOS Development: The entire development process for the previously mentioned iOS application is done entirely in Swift.
  • Communication: At my current job, I constantly communicate with others about the needs of the app, what needs to be changed, and what can be improved.

Interests

  • Mobile Application Development: Because I am self-taught in Swift, I am constantly trying to learn more about how I can improve my application development skills.

Major: Applied Computer Science

  • Software Engineering: Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Agile methodologies with a proficiency in Python to develop graphical user interfaces while effectively contributing to a team.
  • Accessibility and Usability: Skilled in universal design, learned to create accessible and inclusive document and digital content for users of all abilities, ensuring inclusivity and usability in design projects through the DIS 304 course.
  • Leadership and Project Management: Leadership experience shown through mentoring first-year STEM students through PromESA, teaching assistance in the CS 122 course, and leading a team to meet deadlines and achieve a successful project result in CS 386.

Interests

  • Universal Design in Web Development: I'm passionate about front-end development, with a focus on designing web page interfaces that are not only accessible but also highly usable for a wide audience.

Major: Software Engineering

  • Web Development: I have experience with web development from the course CS 312 and worked with a team in CS 386 to develop a web application.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Throughout the last few semesters, I have collaborated on numerous group projects as well as working with a team on a daily basis in my internship. This has allowed me to effectively work with others and strengthen my communication skills.

  • User Interface Design: I am interested in the illustration and graphic elements of web design that enable user-friendly interfaces.

Aaron Ramirez

Major: Computer Science

  • Experienced with Back-End Web Development: In CS-386, I wrote a functional Django REST API for my team project by myself.
  • Familiar with Accessibility Best Practices: I audit products for accessible design for a living, plus I have personal experience navigating the online world with a screen reader because of my blindness.

Interests

  • AI for Accessibility: I am particularly interested in how AI can be used to make the world more accessible.
  • Video Game Accessibility: In 2020, I participated in a project to make the game fully accessible to blind and visually impaired people.
