The final design for Phase 1 uses the two existing 8,000 gallon tanks on site along with a new above ground tank with the same capacity to create a fill and draw system. Wastewater at a will fill one tank and treat it for a period of 7 days. Once the treatment period begins, the next tank will begin to fill, etc.
The image to the left shows the new treatment area, with the new aboveground tank located above the two existing tanks. The existing rotary drum filter located in the waste batter treatment room will be retired and replaced with a plate and frame filter press for sludge handling.
