US 89 goes south and north from the intersection. N Lake Powell road and Scenic View road respectively drive west and east from the intersection.

Project Purpose

A roundabout is being considered for this intersection due to traffic conflicts and incidence of crashes. The current intersection is a four -way intersection with stop signs on the North Lake Powell Boulevard and Scenic View Road, while traffic travelling North and South on US89 do not stop. The roundabout will allow vehicles to travel more efficiently along Highway 89 and cut down the congestion seen at the intersection for vehicles entering/exiting the highway

Project Constraints

1. Must meet all applicable local, state and federal design standards

2. Must meet Arizona construction and material standards

3. The traffic performance after the completion of the project must be LOS C or above

4. After the completion of the existing project, the possibility of collision at the site must be reduced to ensure the safety of vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists

5. Must comply with the design specifications for Arizona roadways and highways

6. The most cost-saving and high-efficiency construction method currently available must be used
