Project Description
The purpose of this project is to develop and test a steel base plate that is to be used in anchorage applications in the back of modified vehicles. It is imperative that this design is efficient and satisfies safety requirements- while adhering to National Highway Traffic Safety (NHTSA) and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS 210) regulations. Our capstone team will construct a series of FEA simulations in order to test QSVS's current installation methods and modify them if deemed necessary. Our deliverables will include specified bolt and steel plate grade and dimensions, as well as step-by-step instructions that will tell our client how we believe the plate should be installed.
