I was born on August 28, 1986 in Watertown, New York. My family moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico when I was thirteen. I attended a charter school with a focus on art, science and technology. Through my experiences at Monte del Sol, I have gained appreciation for community development, economic dimension, and sustainable systems.
Through the mentorship program at my high school, I was a protégé under local professionals in architecture, auto mechanics and bicycle mechanics. I also acted as a student representative board member for the development of a new school building. I graduated from high school in 2005 and enrolled in New Mexico State University where I received a full scholarship and began my undergraduate career in mechanical engineering. In 2007, I transferred to Northern Arizona University where I have focused my studies towards a BS in mechanical engineering. I will complete my undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering with a minor in mathematics from Northern Arizona University in May 2011.
Within the next year, I want to have gained experience in research engineering, product development or manufacturing. As an engineer, I would like to focus on renewable energy and sustainable technology. It is important for me to be involved in the effort to implement the technologies that will help secure our environment.
