Structural Revision C
Key Points:
1. This design
is also shown with the tubular solenoid actuators.
2. Revision
C also includes a hollow shaft down the leg of the structure to
facilitate steering and add structural strength. The steering
shaft is shortened to reduce mass and allow for a further reduction
in frontal profile. In addtion, this design incorporates a toroidal
roller bearing which can accommodate misalignment and axial displacement
of the shaft.
3. With Revision
C, we have greatly reduced both the area of the frontal profile,
and the stress concentrations surrounding welds.
4. Revision
C is the strongest yet, and is our "Frozen" design.
