Design ProcessPrototype ConstructionThe construction of the prototype is where the team currently stands. The prototype has been constructed following the same idea as with the schematic. The same three sections created in the schematic have also been divided up for construction. The power circuit and PWM circuit have both been constructed on bread boards and tested to work correctly. The MOSFET drivers and MOSFETs have been mounted to a power rail and are awaiting testing. The last section is the current sensor, which is in the process of being calibrated for use on the power rail. Once the entire system has been constructed every piece will be housed in a metal enclosure, ready for testing on the vehicle. A key design element here is how to fit the entire circuit in an enclosure that is small in size as not to take up excessive space in a vehicle when installed. Back to Design Process Main |
