Listed below are the requirements for the WibTeX Reference Management System. These requirements were determined through extensive discussions with our sponsor.

• The system must allow the input of valid BibTeX database files
• The system must allow the input of Microsoft Word documents
• The system must allow the choice of output Microsoft Word documents
• The system must inherently support multiple reference styles: ACM, APA, CCSC, IEEE
• The system must convert LaTeX characters to Unicode
• The system must process valid BibTeX markup
• The system must allow input via graphical user interface or command line
