Visitor Count
Visitor Count
The location of the site resides off of the main roadways in Tucson and so the data needed for visitor counts comes from the National Park. The data was collected from February 2020, through October of 2021 and is in total vehicles during the month. All listed data comes from the parks and their own collection service. Upon visiting the site, there was also a collection of visitor counts by the team that helped in the calculations that finalize the number of stalls needed in the final design.
For the team’s site, with it begin a one way in, one way out site, the usage of the data allows for the team to guess at the capacity need for the new lot but the type of vehicle, the duration of stay and the location those vehicles resided still remain unknown. The team was able to get an idea of the used area and the number of stalls needed.
The data collected by the team and the saguaro national park allows for a glimpse of the usage and variability of the users at the site of the trailhead on a particularly busy day. The users seen that day on site range in the style of transport and the type of access needed. The numbers are in vehicles per day and will be the main point of study for the following design work surrounding the volume that the team will be working with.
The Table, listed below, is the collected visits from the National Parks. The result of March bringing the highest number will not control the stalls that the team will be designing for as when that number occurred it could have been all throughout the day, and so it can be spread out and not all happen at the same time.
The site lot will be constructed with the following values, being used as the most common sized cars seen on site the day of data collection. The drawing stall drawings will be applied to the locations within the lots that have been labeled as “passenger car parking” while the trailer truck parking area will be labeled as “trailer parking.” There are a number of restraints that the area must apply to an area that ensures there are consistency in the construction and development in the area. The requirements for all the depths and widths of the stalls to be installed were collected from the city of Tucson standards. Listed at an average of 9.5 feet in width and 19 feet in depth.
