Design Alternatives
The current site of the Loma Alta Trailhead is too small for the growth that it is expecting in the future. Due to this growth the site needs to be expanded to the north. To expand this direction a few things must be done. The steps that have been done to develop the site are grading, material of fill, and design of parking stalls to ensure the best new parking situations. The grading of the site will be 2.5% starting from the north going to the south then where the new parking ends a 5% grade will be done to have the developed site flow into the current road. Going from the east to the west there will be a 1.5% grade going into the channel of water off site to the west. With this gadding this will ensure that the parking of regular stalls to not be too abrupt when passengers are getting out of their vehicles. For the Handicap spots the spots will be raised to a level slope going in all directions due to handicap standards for parking spaces. In the figure below the representation of the grading is shown.

Decision Matrix
The decision matrix for the site was used to select the design that best fit our needs and helped in narrowing down what we ended up designing. The Weight for each category was decided upon by the group and we decided that the number of stalls would carry the most weight as that was what the team was tasked with designing for. Following that, the accessibility is not in reference to the ADA but how easy or hard it is to back up or enter a spot within the lot. And finally, the last category is tied to the flow of the site as if its easy to get in and out but the spots are hard to enter, it doesn't do anything for the users.
