Project Information

Project Purposes

The CECMEE Field Station is used to assist both research and undergraduate training, containing 3.5 acres of open space, which includes a restored work area. This facility supports student projects in ASCE as well as some Senior Capstone design projects in CENE (Civil and Environmental Engineering) 486C that require an open space and surveying instruction in CENE 270. The location was originally created as a research and development (R&D) training facility for wastewater field professionals, primarily for residential applications. Although the water supply system currently needs to be repaired and managed, many of the original below-grade onsite wastewater treatment units and equipment for providing wastewater remain. Currently, the site consists of a dirt road that leads to the field station facility and dirt parking as well as a concrete special access parking lot.
