The documents from our capstone assignments and competition deliverables are included below on this page:
Presentation 1: Introduction to our project and some of the competition requirements. Contains initial modeling ideas, budget and various other senior design capstone requirements.
Presentation 2: The second presentation contains a more detailed project description, with concept generations from the group and engineering calculations.
Presentation 3: The design proposal presentation finalized our design description and design requirements. Additional engineering calculations and design validation helped to verify our proposed design.
Report 1: Report 1 contains all research and preliminary designs related to our project including our senior design capstone requirements and our competition requirements.
Report 2: Report 2 contains the senior design capstone requirements and our competition specific progress. This conceptual design report includes the project background, requirements, research within our design space, design concepts, schedule and budget, and design validation and initial prototyping
1st Prototype Demo: The first prototype demo features a physical model designed to evaluate and refine the gear mesh in our design. Additionally, a virtual prototype was developed to explore and address questions about the recommended software, enhancing our understanding of its application.
2nd Prototype Demo: The second prototype demo features an improved physical design to validate our gear mesh predictions and a virtual model to explore a recommended Power Take-Off software, addressing both mechanical and digital performance.
Fall CAD Blueprints: The document provides detailed technical drawings and specifications for the NAU MECC25 buoy, including its gear assembly, electronic components, and structural designs, with precise manufacturing and assembly instructions.
Engineering Calculations Summary: This document summarizes the equations uesd for our device from the previous semester and any future calculations that the team will be doing this upcoming semester.
The documents for Competition Deliverables are included below on this page:
Technical Design January Submission: This document describes the selected blue economy market that the team is addressing, the reason for choosing that market, and an overview of issues to be explored and analyzed.
Community Connections January Submission : This document descibes the goals of the team and what the team is looking forward to get from the competition.
