IBM is in the business of protecting clients’ data. If they should fail, even in the slightest, it may drive clients away towards competitor businesses. With that in mind, our program must not, under any circumstances, result in inappropriate operations on clients’ data.

Performance

Software development at IBM involves a great deal of tuning for performance and efficiency, both in runtime and in memory usage. Any software used by IBM to service clients and their data must be reasonably fast and not become unresponsive under heavy loads.

While IBM is first and foremost concerned with protecting their clients’ data, they are also heavily invested in being cost effective so that their clients’ costs are reduced, making IBM a competitive cloud service provider.
