Project Information

Welcome to the Project Information Page! Here, you will find information regarding the location of Montezuma Castle National Monument, project constraints, the team's design options, the team's final design, and a photo gallery!

Project Location

Location of Montezuma Castle National Monument within Arizona

(Above) Montezuma Castle National Monument is located in central Arizona, between Phoenix and Flagstaff. To be more precise, the site is off the I-17 Highway, northeast of Camp Verde, Arizona.

Constraints

These are limitations or restrictions the team will have to face during the course of their project. Some contraints include but are not limited to:

  1. Topography - Montezuma Castle National Monument has many places with different elevations, slopes, and obstacles that make it hard for surveying and equipment.
  2. Natural Appeal - The client requests that the team keep the parking lot looking as natural as possible for their design. This includes the trees located in the vegetative island in the center of the existing parking lot.
  3. Weather Conditions - The team will need to prepare for change in weather conditions. This includes: light or heavy rain, snow, low or high-speed winds.

Design Options

Here are some of the design options our team came up with as preliminary selections for the final design. The software, AutoCAD, was used to create each one. The third design option was selected as a base model for the final design.
