¡Hola! Me llamo Janelle Peña, and I serve as the Project Manager and Logistics Coordinator for this initiative. I am currently pursuing dual degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Spanish Modern Language. I have also received the prestigious Gold Axe and President award at NAU where only 1% of NAU graduates receive this recognition. Through this project, I have honed critical project management and team communication skills. My responsibilities include organizing and facilitating meetings with our client, mentors, and internal team members, as well as drafting meeting agendas and formatting PowerPoint presentations for both deliverables and discussions. A significant portion of my contributions has been focused on the water bars, where I developed code for the resistive heat network and created a searchable heat transfer table using MATLAB. This experience has deepened my passion for heat and energy systems, particularly in the areas of energy storage and grid support. Additionally, it has provided me with valuable insights into the importance of proper testing methodologies and instrumentation in engineering projects.
