Project Description
Our project's primary objective is the design and creation of a liquid-to-liquid heat exchanger, with a strong emphasis on optimizing heat transfer efficiency. This advanced heat exchanger will be seamlessly integrated into a demonstrator, which serves as a practical representation of a helicopter cockpit, showcasing its ability to operate with a distinct refrigerant. Below are simple flow diagrams that demonstrate how our system will work.
Project Requirements/Goals
Low Air Temperature - Air blown should be at least 5 degrees below room temperature
Small System Volume - Must be easily transportable to Mesa for demonstration and fit within a client specifed size of 6"x6"x18"
High Operation Time - Must last for at least 30 minutes
Low Head Losses - Maximum allowable pessure loss will be 40 psi
Low Cost - Material cost must be less than 1000$
High Heat Transfer - Target effectiveness of heat exchanger will be 50%
