Project Description

This capstone project focuses on the design and manufacture of a fume hood specifically designed for use at NAU's Biomechatronics Lab. Our proposed project must be compatible with a pre-purchased exhaustion system provided by the Biomech lab. This fume hood must also successfully exhaust carbon fiber particulates in a safe manner. Customer requirements and specifications have been set forth by Dr. Zachary Lerner of the Biomechatronics Lab.
NAU's Biomechatronics lab is resonsible for designing and manufacturing exoskeletal systems for individuals with walking impairments. As such it is important to provide a quality fume exhaustion system that is both lightweight and transportable. This design must work within a primary budget of $400.
