The Society of Automotive Engineers Aero Design Competition, Regular class was created to test team’s ability to design an aircraft to maximize the amount of revenue it can generate based on the passengers and luggage it can carry. The scaled down airplane design will carry tennis balls to represent passengers and half-pound weights to represent luggage. In addition to designing the aircraft, it is important to predict the exact amount of passengers and luggage it can carry.
