Hozhoni Foundation

The Hozhoni Foundation provides residential, occupational, and education services for people with developmental disabilities. The foundation aims to enhance the quality of life and well-being of their clients. Their goal is to further integrate their clients within society, while iteracting with the local community to increase awareness and understanding of people with disabilites.

One of the most important components of the Hozhoni Foundation its art program. The Hozhoni Art Program provides clients with a valuable outlet for self-expression and creativity. Hozhoni clients have the opportunity to work with various types of visual arts under the guidance of experience staff members. The theraputic benefits to creating art are numerous, and the Hozhoni Foundation prides itself in the success of their art program.

The art program features multiple work studios as well as a gallery where artists' work is displayed to the public and available for sale. Currently, the art program has two different devices used to support canvases for painting or drawing: a standard easel, and an inclined tabletop work surface. The Hozhoni Foundation expressed their need for a new assistive workstation, especially one which could be adjusted for use by clients in wheelchairs or for those who prefer to be seated while working.
