John Nichols - Project Manager
John was born and raised in Flagstaff, AZ. where he has excelled in school. He is pursuing his B.S. of Mechanical Engineering Degree at NAU and expecting to graduate in May of 2015. John has developed his skills in the aeronautical field after he completed an Aero System Dynamics class alongside a few other teammates. This is a skill that will increase the teams knowledge about aircraft stability and flight.
Carlen Cyphers Communications Officer
Carlen was born and raised in Cave Creek, AZ. where he spent most of his time flying with Joe Smith learning his incredible flight maneuvers. Carlen is also pursuing his B.S. of Mechanical Engineering degree at NAU and plans to graduate in May of 2015. Carlen is another teammate that has taken Aero System Dynamics and understands the basic principles of aircraft stability. Carlen Cyphers is planning on bringing his RC aircraft experience to the team and his flight experience to competition in order to bring RTF-15 to a safe landing. My name is Carlen Cyphers and I am currently a senior in Mechanical Engineering at Northern Arizona University. I was born and raised in the Phoenix area, more specifically Cave Creek (North Scottsdale area). I love to ride motocross, snowboard, clay shoot (shotgun), as well as do just about anything outdoors. My passion lies in aerospace and I hope to one day be a practicing engineer in the aerospace industry.
Todd Gonzalez IT Officer
My name is Todd, and I was born and raised in Flagstaff, AZ. I am planning on graduating in May of 2015 with his B.S. of Mechanical Engineering degree from NAU. I have enjoyed my major and plan to take the knowledge I have gained and apply it to the overall design of this project. I also know what it takes to bring a CAD drawing to life in the real world, which will improve the efficiency of the build process. Seth Lawrence Documents Coordinator
Seth is from Shingle Springs, CA where he has grown to love RC aircrafts. Him and his Father have spent great father and son hours flying over the coast with their model airplanes making connections with RC aircraft builders and companies. Seth is pursuing his degree in Mechanical Engineering at NAU as well. He has a unique set of skills to bring to the team and is one of the hardest workers that will go the extra mile in order to make sure things get done correctly and ahead of schedule.
Mitchell Thune Supplies Officer
Mitchell grew up in Chino Hills, CA where he spent his time rapidly growing into the next aeronautical engineer of the century. He likes to spend his days throwing paper airplanes off the hills and into the ocean in order to further his work on his new flight theory of the twenty second century. Mitch has also taken the Aero System Dynamics class and aced the class without showing up to lecture. The amount of knowledge inside of his brain is unfair to the human race. Michael Schauer Financial Officer
From the one and only Santa Ana, CA we have Mike Schauer! This kid is legendary back in his hometown where he practiced his Solid Works skills during the day and skied during the night in the mountains. He is also pursuing his B.S. of Mechanical Engineering degree at NAU. Mike has been the head of the ski club here on campus and has developed great management skills especially when it comes to finances. This is a great attribute to the team.
