• Our Project:

    The goal of our project is to design a new test fixture for a magnetic shape memory alloy. This new fixture must be able to perform tension and compression tests without causing the material to fatigue and ultimately break. These testing fixtures will be installed on an Instron 8874 hydraulic bi-axial testing rig.

    Due to the high cost and limited availability of this material, it is crucial that the specimen not be damaged. This means that one of the primary goals of our project is to ensure axial alignment.
