Stephanie Tebo's Biography Page Background I was born in Milwaukee, WI, but I grew up in Lake Havasu City, AZ. I graduated from Lake Havasu High School in May of 2002. I have one older sister, and both of my parents teach grade school. Research and Technical Work I completed a summer internship at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico during the summer of 2004. In addition, I have been doing computational fluid dynamics research under the direction of Dr. Earl Duque since my sophomore year in college. As part of this work, I have helped network Linux and Unix systems, learned about computational fluid dynamics, and analyzed solutions of fluid flow over airfoils. Career Goals With the technical training I have received, I hope to help people in a meaningful way. I know that sounds like a beauty pageant statement, but it is true. I enjoy working with people and being able to help them. As such, I want to use my mechanical engineering training to branch into biomedical engineering. At this point, I plan on going back for my masters degree at some point after I graduate, and I will probably pursue a graduate degree in biomechanics or biomedical engineering. In addition, I am interested in prosthetics, and I may pursue a career path towards becoming a prosthetist. For the near future, I plan to enter the biomedical industry upon graduation from NAU.
