Background

I was born and raised in Palmer, Alaska.  That means that I was raised on skis and lived on the mountains.   I am the youngest and the only girl in a family of six children.

My junior year of high school is when I decided I wanted to become a mechanical engineer.  This decision was made when I visited one of my brothers working on his senior design project for his degree in mechanical engineering.  Simply seeing all the process that he went through,  made it quite clear that this is what I wanted to do.

Education

I am currently obtaining my bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Engineering Experience

This summer( summer 2005)  I had an internship at Boeing in Everett, Washington.  There I was part of a design team that worked on the 787 Dream Liner.  

Career Goals

When I enter the industry I want to go into design work.  The idea of  being in a team and creating something from a thought or a concept, and making it work is an amazing thing that engineers can do, and is something that I want to be a part of.

Personal Interests

I LOVE to ski, both Alpine and Nordic. Hiking  and mountain biking then follow closely to skiing. I also enjoy taking pictures,  spending time with my family and friends, and traveling to new places.
