What did you learn from the project? “My experiences with this project have not all been positive, to be honest. However, I have learned more from this project than I had ever expected! The major points that I have learned are that time management is a huge necessity to the success of any project. Teamwork is another huge part of success. I have enjoyed working on this project greatly for the past two semesters, and will take every lesson learned with me wherever I go in life! The project was challenging and posed many problems, and in the end might not have been a complete success on paper. But the lessons learned proved the project to be an extreme success in terms of my education. I would like to thank those at Boeing for giving us this opportunity as well as all those who have helped our team on this project.” |

What did you learn from the project? “What I have learned from this senior capstone design project are some key things that I will definitely benefit from in the future when I get out into the work force. I have noticed that time management is essential. Our design team ended up having to perform last minute tasks that should have been done earlier in time, but for unforeseen circumstances they had to be pushed off until a later date. Choosing the right teammates is another key to a projects success. A team needs to be assembled so that each team member will accomplish their assigned tasks effectively and efficiently. I have enjoyed working on this project and will take these things into consideration in the future.” |

What did you learn from the project? “I learned to be careful of assuming that things work or are correct before checking them. Just because a document is a standard doesn't mean that it doesn't have subtle errors in it. We ran into a problem with the lab's data acquisition system that took up weeks of our time because we assumed that it would just work. If we hadn't planned ahead for delays we would not have finished the project. Also, don't waste five hours trying to get one machine to work when there is another one that you know will work only 20 minutes away; don't spend five dollars of time looking for a ten cent nut.” |
