Assessment Trip

On May 15th, 2015 seven students and Dr. Dianne McDonnell will travel to Lesoit, Tanzania to perform a complete assessment of the village. This assessment trip will include performing soil and water tests, surveying and mapping existing infrastructure, recording biota, and conducting a detailed social assessment. This information will be documented and collected then passed on to next year’s capstone team. This documentation will include all testing results as well as observations from all team members. This information will then be used to further assess the needs of the village and generate future projects.

The students will be traveling back accompanying Frank and Juma who are two village elders of Lesoit. Frank (shown on the left) as well as Juma are currently studying English at Northern Arizona University and will be strong points of contact in the village.
