This summary is about the design process that Team Solar Flares had went through. During the course of intergrating and testing the circuitry of a Solar power Laptop battery charger. The process started since August 21, 2002 thur May 2002.

Design Stage

Team Solar Flares first to had to inform our client, Mr. Jason Elledge of Micron Technologies Inc., that were accepting his project. According to Mr. Elledge submission of the project, he specified what he wanted and needed for the project. Team Solar Flares had to submit a document that contains the requirements and   specifications for our design . An addition, a proposal was wriitten up with a complete analysis of the requirements, budget, and design strategy of constructing this project.  After the proposal was accepted by Micron, our team had begun ordering the parts for the project. Below are the dates of what was accomplish during the integration of the design.

Integration and Testing Stage

The process of integrating and testing which began in the spring semester of 2002. Most of the circuit proposed was simulated  in late Fall semester of   2001. Some of the circuit were built and tested, it was only the ciruits that we had parts for. A list of dates are shown indicating the activity during those dates.

January 27 thru February 27

Researching the alogrithiums of charging different types of battery chemistries. Finding a solar module that best met our budget and for the power output.

February 27 thru March 4

Finally, we began simulating other circuitry in Orcad (Schematic program) to finalize our schematics to the battery charger.
