The Mayerl Lab is run out of the Bio Sciences building on Northern Arizona University's North campus. Their research is primarily focused on the intersection of animal anatomy and feeding physiology across species.
Research Implications
Our software combined with the mechanical engineering team's robotic nipple will help Dr. Mayerl research the way prematurely born pigs can benefit through an interactive and easily manipulated nipple to improve feeding outcomes. Dr. Mayerl has applied for a grant through the National Institute of Health to help fund further research on this topic.
