CO2 Flux is a mobile application made for the Android Operating System. It is designed to be paired with the Licor LI-840A, which is able to accurately measure CO2, H2O, Pressure, and Temperature in the air. CO2 Flux provides the user with a highly interactive interface, displaying data streamed in from the LI-840A in real-time. For additional convenience, CO2 Flux offers many other features that allow the user to manage collected data without the use of external software
When using CO2 Flux, the user can see Data coming and being plotted based on its measurements as it comes in. The data is plotted onto a dot graph that updates by the second. This affords the user the ability to detect any sort of hardware errors or data anomalies on the spot. The app is able to log data as it comes in, and is saved when the user is finished logging. Any data logged can be managed later.
To eliminate the need for additional software, CO2 flux includes multiple operations for Data management and transference. By simply tapping on an item in the File Directory List, the user can choose to either delete the file, review it in further detail, or delete it from memory. In order to email data out of the app, the Android device must have an email application already installed. All files in each data set selected are attached automatically ; the user only has to provide the To address.
In our effort to elimate the need for researchers to rely on other software, CO2 Flux has built-in functionality for reviewing data. When on the File Directory screen, select a single file and hit the "VIEW" button. This will take the user to the view screen. The screen presents the user with a completely reconstructed graph of the measurements, along with the ability to zoom in and out on the graph. The screen also displays the image associated with the data set, as well as the MetaData the user logged. If the user happens to be interested in only a specific portion of the graph, they can create a subgraph that can be saved as its own Data set.
