Why our project sponsor is seeking an improved implementation of
Current Gameplay
Gameplay in Action
Rules of Gameplay
For each round, one player manually generates a 13-letter tile set which is then given to all players
Each letter of the alphabet has a predetermined point value
There are at least two different modes of game play: one favoring length of words created and one
favoring number of words
A player has 3 minutes to form crossword-style word combinations from their tileset
When the three minutes is up the score is tallied
A game may consist of more than one round
Existing Problems
Each player tracks their own time and score, which is error-prone
Players send scores and results to one another through methods of communication like email, which
enables players to see others' results before they finish their own round
Because all tasks are performed manually, majority of time is spent with logistics of game instead
of playing
Game lacks word validation which complicates scoring
