Project Location Map

Project Location

Location of Cottonwood within Arizona, approximately two-thirds the distance from Phoenix to Flagstaff.

Intersection Aerial View

Intersection Aerial View

SR 260 goes south from the intersection. SR 89A goes east and west from the intersection.

Project Constraints

  • 1. Must meet all applicable local, state and federal design standards
  • 2. Must meet objectives specified in the Arizona Strategic Safety Plan
  • 3. Should be on level terrain
  • 4. Must improve vehicle, pedestrian, and cyclist safety by reducing the likelihood and frequency of crashes over the existing design
  • 5. Must improve traffic mobility and efficiency over the existing design, such that the intersection operates at LOS C or above during peak-hour conditions
  • 6. Must use the most cost-effective materials and building methods currently available

Staffing

The staffing document shows an inital work destribution for each role in this project to increase the effeciency for better results.

Engineering Costs

The engineering costs document shows the position for each member in this project and the estimated cost for each role in order to completely finish this project.

Schedule

The schedule was created to keep a up-to-date progress of the teams works and to keep the project on track.

Alternative Design

The alternative designs were created to improve the process of having better results that lead to the final design of the plan-set.

Decision Matrix

The decision matrix was created to analytically visualize the positive result numbers based on the traffic improvements.

All Plan sets

Detailed AutoCad drawings for the alternatives and final design. For construction and administrative use.

Final Design

The Final Design was selected among the created designs and it will be implemented D4 in the final results.
