Hydraulics Characteristics
- Two water tanks, a 15 and 26 gallon tank
- Washer drain pan to satisfy constant head
- Pond pump with a maximum pumping height of 9 feet and a flow rate of 960 gallons per hour
- Overflow drain pan allows for the constant head
- Pond pump allows for the water in bottom tank to be recycled to top tank
Water System
Hydraulic Calculations
- Minimum top tank volume of 13 gallons
- Minimum pumping height of 6.2 feet
- Minimum flow rate of 733.5 gallons per hour
Project Costs
The projected cost of the project material was $1,000, however, the final cost was $1,247.53 (See table below). This extra $250 was put towards additional piping and fittings purchased for the students to use for their systems.
