Welcome
This is the Boeing Autonomous Mechanical Engineering Capstone at Northern Arizona University. A team of eleven mechanical and electrical engineering students have collaborated on the designs, mechanics, and multidisciplanary ideas to successfully create a self-driving go-kart.

Project Description
This project focuses on integrating autonomous navigation and control systems into a powersports go-kart. The vehicle will be able to perform assigned tasks autonomously, including foward movement, acceleration, braking, electrical regulation, and steering capabilities. This vehicle will also be equipped with a manual mode and safety switch, allowing the passenger to take over and cut power to the kart when necessary.
Sponsors and Stakeholders
This project is sponsored by Boeing with profound support offered by technical support clients Connner N. and Donald G. Our clients have extended valuable assistance and advice to the team throughout the duration of the project.
Importance
This project contributes to the future of transportation and advanced automation technology. The developed system is a stepping stone toward fully autonomous vehicle control in real-world applications. Moreover, these efforts have offered students in mechanical and electrical engineering space to apply their knowledge and skill in a hands-on environment. This experience is important for other students alike who are willing to take their abilities a step further outside of the classroom.
Buggy Vehicle
The go-kart used for this project is the Coleman Powersports 196CC Go-kart. It serves as the test platform for implementing automated control for the final design of the actuation system.
