PROJECT DESCRIPTION
For the Hamster Project, Dr. Reza proposed the idea of creating a motorized “mouse” like object that would help stroke victims with rehabilitation. The device will eventually be programmed with various physical therapy related exercises that could help patients that have limited mobility after suffering from a stroke. Creating the device to be portable for a patient and be used on any tabletop surface that the patient may have. The importance of this project is it could help alleviate the costs related to rehabilitation for patients that may be unable to afford the treatment needed. It potentially could also be used as a form of outpatient care for physical therapists to decrease the amount of in-house patient care.
