Off-Road Bumper
The primary purpose of a bumper on a vehicle is to protect the vehicle and the driver in the event of a collision. They are designed to absorb the impact of a collision by dissipating the energy.
The design of a off-road bumper is to provide additional protection to the vehicle against the rough and rocky terrain. Off-road bumpers are typically larger, more durable, and has a higher clearance than the standard bumpers. This allows the vehicle to traverse rough terrain without damaging the undercarriage or other vital components. Additionally, the team will be accommodating aftermarket lighting, winches, and sensors into the design of the bumper.
Quality Function Deployment
Based on the nature of the project are engineering requirements are related to the following material properties yield strength, Hardness, weight, Modulus of elasticity, and modulus of toughness. Another benefit of the house of Quality is that it compares the engineering requirements against each other to determine how they relate to one another to understand their relationship to one another.
Bill of Materials
A comprehensive list that outlines all the components, parts, and materials required to assemble all three of the bumpers.
Budget
The given a budget is $1,500. This is to be distributed between the three bumpers giving a grand total of $500 per bumper. The primary cost will be the purchasing of raw materials such as hot rolled steel, and steel tubing stock. One of our clients has access to the manufacturing equipment that will be needed to cut out the DFX files that the team created, allowing the team to save money on manufacturing costs.
Schedule
The team created a schedule to be able to complete all tasks in a timely manner. This schedule was constructed as a grant chart to show the progress being made on tasks as well as when they were completed, allowing for visibility on the team’s progress towards completion.
CAD Packet
A CAD (Computer-Aided Design) packet refers to a collection of digital files and data exchanged within the context of computer-aided design applications, encompassing detailed information about all three bumpers' drawings and specifications. This facilitates the conveyance of information to viewers about the design projects.
