Information regarding the Clean Air room Capstone Project
Project Constraints: 1) A room with a ceiling that has an array of nozzles to distribute downward air flow evenly. 2) A floor with an opposing array of nozzles to pull air out of the room. 3) Independent blowers to provide pressure and air flow to the manifolds above the ceiling, and vacuum to the manifolds below the floor. 4) The energy requirements must be calculated and compared to standard systems.
Project Location: The team is located in Flagstaff, Arizona, where the team members attend Northern Arizona University (NAU). Design, assembly, and analysis of the project will take place at or near NAU with the aid and supervision of NAU faculty and staff.
Tasks: 1) The team outlined project requirements, built a house of quality, and created a functional decommissions to understand the main objectives and driving constraints of the project. 2) Each member conducted research on current trends and research being performed in the clean air room field. 3) The team generated concepts for evaluation. 4) The team used design decision processes to select primary and secondary designs. 5) The team created a design for the small-scale prototype. 6) The team created testing procedures. 7) The team is currently constructing the prototype model. 8) The team will conduct tests on the prototype model. 9) The team will use the results of the testing procedures to design a final model which meets the project's goals.
