Successfully Restore Texture to Worn Rock Climbing Holds
The goal of the Climbing Hold Resurfacer Project is to create a system that will be able to apply a renewed surface texture on used climbing holds. This project is sponsored by John Doskicz, owner of Flagstaff Climbing Center and Main Street Bouldering Gym. In his climbing gyms John must re-order new climbing holds to replace old holds that have lost substantial texture every couple years and this costs him thousands of dollars for every order placed. Upon the successful completion of this project, John will be given the designed system for personal use therefore saving him money over the course of the next few years. In addition to saving John money, this system will be the first of its kind with the hopes that this will jumpstart further climbing hold resurfacing ideas and products for indoor climbing gyms across the country.
