SAE Aero Design - Micro Class 2016-2017
SAE International holds an annual Aero Design competition for colleges around the world to showcase radio-controlled aircraft designs of various sizes. This competition allows students to be introduced to the use of resources and efficient design in a real-world application. The competition is broken down into three sections: Micro Class, Regular Class, and Advanced Class. Teams will be judged and scored based on Oral Presentation, Written Report, and Flight Results. Those scoring the competition will recognize the most successful designs, providing opportunity for a future position within their companies. In the aerospace industry today, engineers face many similar challenges. Conflicting requirements are a common occurrence in engineering applications, and it is a priority to incorporate the most of each requirement without jeopardizing the quality of the product.
