John Dyer
After graduating high school in 2004, John Dyer worked construction for 1 ½ years doing framing, roofing, trim carpentry, and other construction trades. In the fall of 2005 John began his education as a full time student at Northern Arizona University (NAU). While attending NAU, John had two summer internships at W.L. Gore and Associates, and was hired as a part time employee after his second internship. Shortly after, John was invited to join a small start-up working on an innovative type of electric motor. Because the opportunity looked promising, John decided to postpone his education and was hired as the third full time employee at the electric motor start-up: Motor Excellence.

- Motor design and optimization through electromagnetic finite element analysis.
- Generating and protecting IP.
- Communicating technical information internally and externally.
- Leading a small team of motor design engineers.
Through his work at Motor Excellence, John is listed as an inventor on 5 patent applications relating to transverse flux electric motor designs. In the spring of 2012, John resigned as a full time employee in order to complete his education, although he continues to provide consulting services to Motor Excellence. John self-financed his education, has taken no school loans, and plans to graduate in December of 2012.
