INTRODUCTION
ATK is one of the largest
aerospace and defense contractors in the world. They have a significant
presence in the medium caliber armored vehicle armament segment. This project
specifically pertains to the 30mm programmable air bursting munitions fired
from the MK44 Bushmaster Cannon. These rounds are capable of traveling preset
distances and exploding mid-flight. To do this, they require a programming
connection to the system firing them. To test this, an inert test verification
round was produced that gives a go/no-go indication of the connection between
the round and the onboard computer.
