Design Process

 

After initially reviewing the project requirements and specifications the team came up with multiple design concepts (figures 1 and 2).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Feasibility of these designs were analyzed and the two motor concept was selected due to reliability, easy of construction, and cost.  Figure 3 shows an intermediate design of the two-motor concept.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Further refinement resulted in the final concept  show in figures 4 and 5.
