Experience

I have interned at Raytheon Missile Systems during the 2005 and 2006 summers. The first summer I was able to help design a mass model for testing purposes. The second summer I conducted a cost analysis to make a wiring harness more cost effective. I determined what could effectively be changed, if the change would cause any problems, the hardware that would be used for the changed, and updated all the drawings for these changes. I have also had the opportunity to participate in a project through the NASA Undergraduate Space Grant Program during the 2005-2006 school year and continued as an independent study in Fall 2006. I designed, modeled, and simulated a landing platform for an unmanned-aerial vehicle helicopter. I ended up modeling a platform that Moog, Inc sells because the design was beyond my experience. I used ADAMS to model and simulate the platform, so in the future controls and sensors can be applied. I’m looking forward to working at W.L. Gore here in Flagstaff upon graduation in May.

Personal Interests

I love almost anything that involves being outdoors or sports. I have been hiking, camping, and rock climbing with my family since I can remember. I’ve played soccer, basketball, and ran track for quite a few years and love it though now unfortunately I’m mostly a spectator. I also enjoy reading and playing the piano by don’t have much time for either during the school year.
