State of the Art Research
To help us begin solving our problem, we researched anything and everything that already exists to give us ideas and so that we wouldn't design something that is already on the market. Although there is very little information on they type of system we would like to design, an active vertical fin with mounting hardware and acompanying mounting hardware and power system, there was ample information. Of most help were papers on the aerodynamics of a helicoptor/slung load system, mounting hardware for other types of systems, and many interesting ideas on ways to create an active tail fin similar to the systems used on RC helicopters.
