Hello, we are Pulsating Power, and for our capstone project, we received a proposal sponsored by W. L. Gore & Associates. This project's scope is to design, build, and test a fully implantable electric generating/charging system designed to recharge pacemaker-type implants to prevent the need for surgical battery replacement.Â
A brief overview of our project!
Here you can find our YouTube video.
AcknowledgmentsÂ
We want to thank W. L. Gore and Northern Arizona University for allowing us to create something new that can revolutionize the treatment of heart arrhythmia. Once we have a successful implementation, we will be able to counter the drawbacks of the non-rechargeable pacemaker. What's more, it will benefit countless patients with heart conditions. Â
We also want to thank the Faculty Advisors:Â Â
Instructor: Dr. Carlo R. da Cunha, We thank him for allowing us to participate in such a highly socially significant and valuable project. We also had the opportunity to be personally involved in the engineering design process, which will significantly benefit our future careers in related industries. Client: DJ Mongeau, We would like to thank our client from W.L. Gore and Associates for giving us the challenge of creating a bioelectric generator. Â
Teaching Assistant: Alexander Dahlmann, Thanks to him for guiding us through the design process. He pinpointed the problems in our theories and experiments and helped us to accurately analyze our customers' needs, which saved us a lot of detours and trouble.
