Project Description
A common problem when looking for parking is to find a free spot without spending extra time driving around the parking lot. We can find some free spot trackers in some big indoor or covered parking lots, but not in outdoor parking lots like the ones we have at NAU. Consequently, this could lead us to be late for our class or work. For this reason, in this project, the team will be tasked with building a system of parking finder drones that will act by localizing empty spots in NAU parking lots and send the information to a server that will tell each vehicle user where to park. Therefore, these parking finder drones will help students or faculty find the right parking spot within a short time. The team is expected to use path planning, image processing and wireless communication protocols to design the system accordingly. This module will be used for education and research purposes.
