The Loggers Jacks have been tasked with creating a modular data logger. The purpose of this project is to gather valuabe metrics. The intention behing this data logger is to allow the various Winfree labs to have a central device that will log all of their data.
The involved sensors are intended to be modular. Our intent is to allow for data points to be gathered from any sensor and from any project. Ultimately any sensor module can be added to a project and begin logging data.
The log everything project will be able to be used in a multitude of situations that can cater to the specific needs of the user. For example, one user can use our device to log heart rate and pulse data while another user may choose to use our device to log GPS coordinates and motion data. Alternatively the user can choose to log heart rate, pulse, GPS coordinates, and motion data all at once.
As of the most recent update we have been researching the wireless protocols we intend to use to build the project. We intend to start assembling ASAP.
All of our purchased equipment does not seem to work. We selected parts based on ease of use and the modularity between each other. We seem to not be able recreate others examples using our hardware and the examples exact configuration. We will most likely be scrapping these plans and trying to implement another solution with new hardware.
With the end of the project here. We were successful in creating a small scale data logger. We also were able to provide a proof of concept for transmitting and storing the data wirelessly.
