Project Description

GoBabyGo is a an international movement to assist children with disabilities and restricted movements that began in 2012 by Dr. James Cole Galloway at University of Delaware. In additions, the project is about a car that helps children in various activities besides the physical part includes, socialization, reducing depression and improving posture. The team of the project is required to come up with an idea that will add more fun ways to the wild thing car and being a part of development in improving the project overall. Children with disabilities deserve the right to be equal with other kids, which means, equal opportunities must be provided for them so they can be able to participate in leisure and game activities just like the other children and also enjoy what other children enjoy despite their medical status.

The main goal is to improve the posture of the child that is using the car thus gaining strength as he/she gets used to the car and socializing with children at their age range thus they do not feel left out because children with mobility issues are not exposed to much needed socialization thus they might suffer depression and anxiety problems. The team were tasked to work with one of the families that live in Flagstaff which we met and discussed with them ideas about the project.

The team was able to come up with an idea that was inspired from the function of pinball game and apply it into the wild thing car to make kids with disabilities able to play Kickball game with others. In fact, by adding that, it helps them socializing with their peers besides having fun.
