Prometheus Renewables: Residential Hybrid Sustainable Energy Project |
For this project we are working with a mechanical engineering team to design, build, and test a wind turbine prototype for residential use.
The generator we chose will be integrated into the wind turbine by the ME team so that it begins producing AC power at very low wind speeds. This DC power, which will come from the generator by wire will be combined with DC power from the solar panel. This will take place in the charge controller, which will regulate output and switch to a diversion load when the battery bank is fully charged. |
