Objective
To obtain a permanent position upon graduation at a well-established engineering firm,
preferably in the Western United States.
Qualifications
To be a successful and valuable engineer in today’s world, one must have good teamwork,
communication, and leadership skills to go along with engineering experience and education.
I believe that I possess all three of these qualities, as well as the necessary experience and
education to succeed as an engineer.
Currently, I am working on my Senior Design Project, which consists of designing and building
a real-time garage guidance system for a client in Tucson, AZ. I am the team leader of the group,
which consists of four members. The project budget is $150, so we have to implement mostly
used parts, including a GameBoy, which we will reprogram as the display device, and some
LaserTag lasers and detectors, used to detect if the vehicle is off course. This project has been
quite challenging so far, but it has been a good experience working as part of a team. As the team
leader, I have seen both the struggles and successes of our team, especially in communication. It
has been difficult at times to coordinate everyone's schedules and get everyone heading in the same
direction, but it has been worthwhile. The project is coming along nicely and will be ready to
demonstrate in April.
